Q. Do you guarantee your work?
Yes! We take great pride in our work, and want you to be very happy with the final result.

Your satisfaction is guaranteed! Here are the details:

If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with something you receive from us, kindly let us know.  We will honour any reasonable request for changes.

When it comes to ensuring customer satisfaction, we try to be proactive. During our consultation, and before we begin to work on the project, you will be advised of the degree to which we will be able to restore or modify your photo(s). For video transfers, slideshows, and other products/services, we will discuss in advance what is included...and what is not. We strive to avoid any disappointment for you by letting you know ahead of time what you can expect to receive from us.

Q. How do I pay?
We accept cash, cheque, money order, or Interac e-Transfer. (Soon, we plan to also offer our customers the option of paying by credit card or Interac Debit).

For online orders, the preferred method of payment is Interac e-Transfer. This is a safe and secure way to send money. It's also easy and inexpensive! To learn more about how this service works, please visit the Interac website at www.interac.ca .

Q. Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a deposit is required for most orders. Normally, 50% of the quoted price must be paid before we begin the project. The balance will be due when you pick up your order.

Online orders must be paid in full before we begin.

Q. Can I purchase additional prints?
Yes. Additional prints can be ordered, if desired.  This can be done when you place your original order, or at a later date.  Extra prints are reasonably-priced. Prices vary according to the print size requested.

Q. Can I get an online quote?
Yes. You can scan the photo yourself and e-mail it to us. After we review your photo, we will send you an e-mail to advise you of the total cost of the restoration.

If you decide to have us proceed with the actual restoration, for the best possible results, we advise our customers to bring the photo to us and allow us to scan it here in our studios.

Q. What is the process for restoring a photo?
We begin by making a high-resolution scan of the photo. By working in a digital format, your original photo is never changed or harmed in any way.

Next, we adjust the contrast, brightness, and colour levels to achieve the best possible look for your photo.

We then zoom in at high magnification and repair all scratches, cracks, dust marks, etc.. Occasionally, some parts of an image are missing altogether. In these cases, it is necessary to recreate the missing parts. Sometimes, this can be accomplished by copying similar details from another part of the image (or from another image). A little creativity, as well as an artistic touch, are needed to fill in the missing areas.

The restored image is then printed on high-quality photographic paper.

Q. Is a photo ever beyond repair?
Sadly, the answer is yes. However, only a restoration professional is able to say for sure. Many photos that appear completely destroyed, to the untrained eye, often restore beautifully. At Precious Memories Studios, we are ready to tackle almost any challenge. Please, do not discard your photo before consulting us.

Q. Can you provide me with a digital copy of my restored image?
Yes. You can ask us to copy the picture file to your USB flash drive, send it to you by e-mail, or store your file on a CD. There is no additional charge for this service.

Q. ‘My dog ate the photo’ you restored for me last year.
Can you help me?

No problem! We have restored literally hundreds of photos over the years, and all of these digital files can be accessed on our computers, if necessary. We hope that nothing bad ever happens to your restored photo but, if it does, give us a call. We will be pleased to reprint your photo for you.
